This subject is designed to continue on from JPL1010. It aims to continue the development of basic communicative competence in spoken Japanese and the introduction of the Japanese writing system. It is necessary to complete successfully JPL1010 and JPL1020 (or acceptable combination) to proceed to the second-year language sequence. Students are recommended to enrol concurrently for JPS1070 (Sources of contemporary Japanese culture and society).
