Students attend a weekly pattern of one lecture, three practicals and one tutorial. The lecture covers a broad introduction to the language, including the history of the language, cultural influences and approaches to language learning. Practicals deal with the introduction and application of basic communication tasks. The tutorial is student directed and deals with problems or points of interest arising from the practicals and lecture.
Assessment
Examination (2 hours): 50% * Assignments, tests and oral: 50%
