Advanced Hindi, part 1

8 points * 4 hours per week * First semester * Clayton * Prerequisites: HIN2220 or HIN2222

The emphasis in this subject is on the study of Hindi prose and poetry. Authors from the fifteenth century to the present are studied. Students will read a short novel and excerpts from medieval and modern Hindi poets. Emphasis during class discussions will be given to speaking in Hindi.

Assessment

Examinations (3 hours): 40% * Short exercises: 20% * Two essays (1000 words each): 20% * Oral presentations: 20%
