Intermediate French IA

6 points * Two 2-hour tutorials plus one 1-hour supervised computer-lab class per week * First semester * Clayton * Prerequisites: Three years of French at secondary school or equivalent, but not having passed VCE French * Students enrolling in FRN1050 must see the coordinator and complete an information form and diagnostic test * Admission to the subject is at the discretion of the department

Major emphasis is placed on enhancing communicative language competence, consolidating grammatical knowledge, and developing basic writing skills. An introduction is also provided to the society and culture of modern France.

Assessment

Written and oral exercises as prescribed throughout the semester: 40%; * Final aural/oral tests: 15% * Final written exam (3 hours): 45%
