Minor thesis

A long essay or minor thesis (9000 words) on an approved topic of the candidate's own choice. The thesis topic should, ideally, be decided upon and approved before the end of the previous year so that a supervisor may be appointed and much of the work done during the long vacation and first semester. In connection with the thesis, there will be a short subject in methodology during some weeks of the first semester and a series of seminars to discuss work in progress. Two copies of the minor thesis must be submitted in typescript and suitably bound not later than 31 October for students completing in second semester, or 31 May for students completing in first semester.
