An introduction to computers

2 points * Caulfield/Clayton/Peninsula

This subject is aimed at providing a basic level of computer literacy for those students with little or no computer skills. The subject will be conducted on MS-DOS based computers and will involve approximately twenty hours of work. It will consist of either an introduction to DOS (disk operating system) or the Windows environment, the elements and applications of word processing, introduction to spreadsheets, library resources and information retrieval. Successful completion will entail passing a brief test. Queries concerning the timetabling of this subject should be directed to the Computer Centre inquiry counter on the Clayton campus.
