8 points * One 2-hour lecture, one 3-hour workshop per week * Second semester * Peninsula * Prerequisites: APY2020

Community psychology and the traditional mental health approach. Nature and function of self-help groups. The psychologist's relationship with other health professionals. Crisis intervention. Prevention, social intervention and change in community organisations. Negotiation skills. Note: part of this subject involves placement with a psychologist in a community organisation.

Assessment

Test: 20% * Seminar presentation: 30% * Placement report: 50%
